Well, I’m finally here at the Dolphin hotel in Orlando, waiting with great excitement for SolidWorks World to begin very early tomorrow.
Despite a failure in one of the engines of the plane I was travelling in during the first part of my trip, and an almost lost connection in Denver (boy, the last time I ran like that I was chasing a soccer ball not a plane), I was very lucky to make it on time for a meeting with a few other bloggers and some SolidWorks folks, where some very exciting possibilities for the future were discussed. Unfortunately, that’s really all I can tell you about that meeting. Everything else is NDA. In fact, I’m not even sure I’m allowed to tell you that the meeting took place at all, but, anyway, all you need to know right now is that this would be awesome for SolidWorks users everywhere.
At the meeting, I got to see a few familiar faces, and also a few other ones that I had only seen in pictures. I finally met Jeff Mirisola, Ricky Jordan, Rob Rodriguez and Alex Ruiz, aka SolidWorks Geek. It was nice to see all of these guys together in one place!
Unfortunately for me, during the second half of my trip I got to sit next to a couple that really loves their perfume, and the smell of it triggered a massive headache that stayed with me well into the evening. By the time the meeting was over, I was ready to take some aspirin, bite a pillow in an extra dark room, and try to nap the headache away, so I missed the Tweetup, and I wish I could’ve been there, because it seems it was a lot of fun.
Well, time for me to have more aspirin and get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a very exciting day!
